Prahran Station

While I was waiting for the train at Prahran Station on Friday (me and my brother Justin had been at Obese - a record store/label that specialises in Australian hiphop) I was struck by the contrast between the station and the apartments across the road. That's what I've tried to bring out in this picture.

The antennas of Wendouree

For some reason, it seems that the television antennas in Ballarat are extremely tall. Maybe they're from a time when antennas needed to be taller? Maybe they're so tall so they can pick up the Melbourne/Geelong stations from over the mountains? (Ballarat has mountains all around it.) I don't know. The antennas in Ballarat just look really tall to me.
And in Wendouree I reckon it's more noticeable than the rest of the city. This may be because there aren't many tall buildings, streetlamps or big trees, so the antennas are the tallest things around? I don't know.

The end of Scoresby

... being the last of the photos I took in Scoresby, outer-eastern Melbourne.

I wish now that I'd had a look around inside the factory (top right). It was a Saturday, so it's unlikley anyone would be around, and I don't know why it'd been left open. It's in a pretty bad state of disrepair, so I maybe it's been abandonned.
In fact, I might go there again tomorrow and see if anyone's around, seeing as I'm in Melbourne. And while I'm there I might as well see what's going on at the construction site with all the pipes as well.

Wombat

This is a big, wooden wombat, in Melbourne CBD. But it's not just any big, wooden wombat. It's a street big, wooden wombat. I reckon it would beat Bunjil in a fight, any day.

An apology on the behalf of UoB techies

Due to the University of Ballarat techies wiping my hard drive, there will be no new photos until next week.

Construction

These are some more photos I took at the Scoresby construction site with all the pipes.

Concrete

There is a town in Washington called Concrete. Perhaps the production of concrete is its main industry. Or perhaps it is made almost entirely of concrete. Tobias Wolf wrote a bit about it in his memoir, This Boy's Life, which my class had to read in year 11. I'm sure it's rather nice.

These photos were taken from the back of a concrete ... factory? It's in Scoresby, close to where I took the tree photos.
