Concrete
There is a town in Washington called Concrete. Perhaps the production of concrete is its main industry. Or perhaps it is made almost entirely of concrete. Tobias Wolf wrote a bit about it in his memoir, This Boy's Life, which my class had to read in year 11. I'm sure it's rather nice. These photos were taken from the back of a concrete ... factory? It's in Scoresby, close to where I took the tree photos.

i grew up near two towns in missouri: peculiar and tightwad. nice shots here. the sky is fabulous in both. ;-)
Concrete, Washington got its name from the fact that two cncrete factories were located. One was only in operation for a few years. Lone Star Cement Company shut down due to environmental reasons during the late 1960's. My dad worked there for 15 years. I can remember how gray dust covered "everything" in Concrete.... thus everything belong to or became part of Concrete.
